Erm *caugh* Well... Hm. I don't know what to say, but I really more or less forgot about my blog here for a while. Sorry!
I have no real news anyhow right now. The Xvid-release 1.2.1 is out - you probably realized that without me writing about that. If you want to, you can try the build with VAQ-patch applied as it gave a great result in my limited tests.
Job-wise, I am lucky here in the south of germany. The whole area (not just my colleagues) is nice. It's a tourism region, so it has to be. :-)

Great to hear that you are still alive ;-)
Is there any chance that you get to put together a 64bit version too?
Is it possible to convince you to add version numbers to the Xvid binaries? That would be of pretty immense value to help track about what version users actually have. :D
There are version numbers in the installers: Xvid-1.2.1-04122008.exe.
Do you mean that I should include them in the .dll itself? You get the version number via standard-api-call as well. In virtualdub you can press the "about" button in the codec selection dialog and see the version number that way.
Anyhow, for the next build I'll look into adding the version number to the file itself, too.
Yes, yes! As, a previous commenter has requested: could we please have a 64-bit version soon? I've been searching the net and it seems that 64-bit encoders/decoders are really anticipated these days.
Thanks for all the hard work!
Hello.
Great to hear that you are still alive :-)
Is there any chance that I can get you a MoBo with a Intel 64bit cpu and memory so you can put together a 64bit pc? You can contact me at
soroka69@hotmail.com My name is Paul.
I'm a computer IT tech at local company. I don't have a German Windows 64bit OS. Sorry my German is not so good. Thanks for all the hard work!
